Gursimar graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Environmental science and Geospatial science. She completed her third-year research project in environmental risk assessment and used GIS as an effective tool for analysis work and to present maps.
Gursimar has experience working in local councils and the utilities network as a GIS professional with a focus on data collection through configuring mobile apps for easy field data collection, capturing as-builts to audit and update development of assets and networks and asset management.
Gursimar joined Morphum Environmental as a GIS Analyst in July 2023 as a part of the Geospatial services team and is based in the Waikato office. With a passion for sustainability and making a difference to the environment we live in Gursimar provides quality GIS technical solutions and support services on a diverse range of projects to help make informed decisions. She believes that GIS is a powerful tool in which spatial data can be visually represented in a way that is easy to understand.
Outside of work, she likes to stay active with yoga and loves a good hike. Gursimar also enjoys cooking and reading. Gursimar likes to volunteer in the community whenever she has some spare time and mentors high school students.
