Julia joined Morphum Environmental in 2022. Prior to this, she was working on a PhD in Environmental Science at the University of Auckland, where she was researching land-water-atmosphere interactions from hilltop to ocean. She also holds a Master’s degree in Biology from the University of Québec in Montreal, where she worked on large-scale aquatic biogeochemistry, and a Bachelor of Science from Lund University in Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science.
Julia has a diverse professional background in GIS and remote sensing, laboratory analyses, field work, sample collection, data analysis, and teaching. She is passionate about improving our understanding of the interconnections of what happens on very small scales of molecules and microbes, to the large scales of land use and landscape processes.
At Morphum, Julia is mainly involved in the work on the Freshwater Management Tool (FWMT) and project management.
Out of the office you can find her diving, tending her aquariums and other pets, baking, boxing, crafting, painting, or roaming around forested areas.
