Petra Saecker-Battley

Petra Saecker-Battley

Engineer

Petra graduated from the University of Auckland in mid-2023 with a conjoint degree in a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) and a Bachelor of Science, specialising in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geography. She joined Morphum in late 2022 while completing her final university papers. Her focus at university was on water quality and management.

Petra has held a keen passion for the environment since primary school. Through years of sea scouts, she developed a greater appreciation for Papatūānuku after seeing first-hand how her local awa started to degrade, pushing her to pursue a career where she could make impactful environmental change. She hopes to enact this change as a part of the engineering design team at Morphum.

Outside work Petra enjoys exploring the outdoors, playing hockey, and taking some downtime to read or hang out with her chickens.

Specialisations:

  • Stormwater management
  • Drainage infrastructure design
