We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the Business Performance team based in the Auckland Office.
The role is for a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant with experience in invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing. You'll play a key role in supporting business operations, assisting with forecasting, analysis reports, reconciliations, and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing to keep our financial systems running smoothly.
This role requires you to play a key part in coordinating and collaborating with various business stakeholders to ensure efficient financial processes. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.

Examples of our work include:
• Assisting with the management of all admin and financial activities
• Accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations using Xero
• Payroll
• Assisting with various tax returns (GST/FBT/PAYE)
• Power BI reporting – utilisation and various performance tracking
• Month end processes
• Assisting with sustainability reporting
• Accounting process development to gain efficiencies across various Morphum functions
• Project management system maintenance
• Project value creation and budget analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting processes
You have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting and 2+ years of relevant experience. Ideally in a SME where you have had the chance to complete processes start to finish and have been doing so independently.
You have been working with Xero Accounting Software and can competently use it in all respects.
You have fundamental accounting knowledge through your relevant degree and similar positions that involved supporting accounting teams.
You are confident and competent communicator, able to liaise directly with internal team members, clients, and key collaborators to ensure efficient delivery of high-quality outputs.
You are proactive in developing strong connections with the internal stakeholders.
You hold strong environmental values and have a passion for sustainability.
You actively engage in a culture of teaching and learning and are willing to continuously develop knowledge of tikanga, diversity, equity and inclusion, sustainable outcomes, and low-carbon initiatives.
You are located in Auckland.
